Welcome and Thank You for Visiting!

I’m C.S. Boyll. My picture book Always Flying Bobby, illustrated by friend Jessica Santiesteban, soars on Amazon and is available by ordering in most independent bookstores and at Barnes & Noble. We have been receiving enjoyable feedback about this story of a grandfather and granddaughter, who discover flying passions exist from babyhood to adulthood. The story encourages children to realize that interests for tomorrow are being formed by many of their current activities. The book layers color, sounds, story telling, and surprises to delight children, ages 3-7 (as well as their caregivers). Jessica and I love to visit preschool, kindergarten, and first grade classrooms and share this STEAM friendly book. In case you don’t know, STEAM stands for science, technology, engineering, art and math.

Sail Ho! A Page-Turner Historical Fiction Read!

“Unexpected Riches” is found on many journeys as a reading companion.

If you like historical fiction, you should order Unexpected Riches. The e-book option is also available on Amazon. Unexpected Riches tells the story of a kidnapped Puritan midwife, who needs grit, faith, and an irritating seaman to get her home (but does she make it?). Find some insider info on the Unexpected Riches tab above, including book club and classroom information. Unexpected Riches is well researched about the wild mid 17th Century colonial times. The cover, created by Ariane and Jacqueline Peveto, recently was a finalist for best cover design in 2024 by the Colorado Authors League.

A Few “Unexpected Riches” Reviews Below:

“Sooo your book arrived last night, but I was too pooped to start reading and went to bed early! Then I woke up at 3:30 am and couldn’t go back to sleep, so got up and started reading. Holy cow! I didn’t want to put it down even after I started getting tired several chapters in. SUCH a good read! Can’t wait to keep reading tonight!”

“I love history. But I want more than dates and places. I want description! This story grabbed my attention quickly developing characters, customs, travel, diverse peoples, and settings that thrived just 40 years after the Mayflower sailed….Moving authentically into this New World…the plot draws one into the expectations, fears, challenges and pain of these people. Descriptions of rich and slave, unbelief and unexplainable faith, from London through the French Caribbean to Boston, it was hard to put this novel down. This story would be very appropriate and enjoyable for older students studying American history.”
